LEONIE ANDERSON

Leonie is a musician and educator. Having grown up, lived and worked in London and Surrey, she had long wanted to find a home which offered space for reflection and creativity for individuals, families or larger groups.

A professional viola player, whose work as an orchestral player and chamber musician has taken her to many of the country’s performing venues, across Europe and beyond, she has also taught in schools, colleges and conservatoires as well as privately. Please find further information about her educational work here.

Leonie also works closely with Ambrosian Strings, a Devon-based group who can offer bespoke music for your special event.

Since moving to Exmoor, Leonie has immersed herself in the local music scene, directing and accompanying community choirs and tutoring orchestral students at the University of Exeter, alongside teaching at Barkham and continuing some freelance playing. She is looking forward to developing the music provision in the area, from the least experienced through to its most senior members, and to welcoming many visiting soloists and ensembles who will also play their part in this adventure.
