About the event

Jayden Lamcellari is one of the most promising cellist of his generation. The Irish-Albanian Cellist is studying with Professor Christoph Richter at the Royal Academy of Music after being awarded a full scholarship. Prior to this he worked with Professor Bozidar Vukotic at the Junior Royal Academy of Music and the Purcell School for Young Musicians, whence he was invited to perform as a soloist in some of the world's major concert halls, including Carnegie Hall (2017,2019), Lincoln Centre, Musikverein Vienna, Wigmore Hall, Cadogan Hall.

Jayden has been the winner of 5 international competitions including the Soloists of New England international competition, Vienna International Music Competition and The Gustav Mahler International Competition.

Jayden was awarded the 1st Prize for the Piatti Cello Competition at the Royal Academy of Music to celebrate the composer’s 200th birthday. He was also the recipient of the ‘Derek Simpson’ award to celebrate Cellist Derek Simpson. A passionate chamber musician, Jayden is a member of Westminster Quartet and the Adatto Piano Quartet.

Born in Kuala Lumpur in 2000, pianist and composer Julian Chan is currently recipient of the Ronald and Rita McAulay Award at the Royal Academy of Music, where he studies with Ian Fountain and Michael Dussek.

Rapidly developing a reputation as one of the most innovative pianists of his generation, Julian has given performances at a number of prestigious venues across the UK, including Wigmore Hall, St John’s Smith Square, Regent Hall, and the Sheldonian Theatre. A passionate composer and performer of new music, Julian has collaborated with eminent composers such as Howard Skempton, Anna Thorvaldsdottir, Hans Abrahamsen, Deborah Pritchard, Michael Berkeley, and Peter Seabourne.

Julian was awarded First Prize and Sonata Prize at the Nanyang International Music Competition, Singapore, and First Prize at the Coulsdon and Purley Festival with his performance of Rachmaninoff’s Piano Concerto No. 3. Julian had his first book of compositions published at age 6, earning him the title of Malaysia’s Youngest Composer.
